Is Malik Willis on the Move? Titans QB’s Future Amid Rumors and Speculation

In a world rife with roster shake-ups, the future of the Tennessee Titans quarterback, Malik Willis, is up for debate. Selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Willis was initially seen as the franchise’s potential future. However, a challenging rookie season and the Titans’ recent draft of another quarterback have ignited rumors about Willis’ future with the team.

Drafted from Liberty, Willis entered the NFL as a raw prospect, with intriguing athleticism and a wealth of potential. Despite the excitement, his rookie season proved tough. Struggling in his three NFL starts, he failed to throw a single touchdown and managed fewer than 100 yards in each game. The Titans response? Drafting Will Levis in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, fueling speculation about Willis’ position within the team.

Yet, Willis’ performance during the Titans’ recent offseason practices has been impressive. Noted for his command of the offense, increased accuracy, and speed, Willis has won praise from both teammates and coaches. His determination to understand the fundamentals of football, quarterback play, and the offense has shown his resilience and dedication to improvement.

However, the question on everyone’s lips is, “Will Malik Willis’ future be with the Titans?” As it stands, barring injury or unexpected trade, the Titans have two quarterbacks set for their roster: Ryan Tannehill and Will Levis. This leaves Willis in a precarious position.

Several factors will determine whether Willis will remain with the Titans. The team’s overall health and depth, head coach Mike Vrabel’s preference for the number of quarterbacks, and the ongoing progress of Willis and Levis will all play a part in this decision. If Willis continues to improve and show potential to be a starter, the Titans may want to keep him as an asset, either for themselves or for potential trade opportunities.

Yet, history shows that Vrabel has never started a season with three quarterbacks. If this trend continues, Willis may find himself looking for opportunities elsewhere.

Despite an impressive offseason and visible improvements, Malik Willis’ future with the Tennessee Titans remains uncertain. Will the fruits of his labor be realized in Tennessee or will he find success elsewhere? Only time will tell.
