Chad Ryland was honored as a Second Team All-Big Ten player, a recognition reserved for the top-performing athletes in the conference. During the 2022 season, Ryland demonstrated his exceptional skills as a kicker, starting in all 13 games and successfully making 19 out of 23 field goals, an impressive 82.6% completion rate. He displayed noteworthy accuracy, successfully making all 9 of his attempts from under 40 yards. He scored 96 points, the eighth-highest number of points scored by a Terp in a single season. Additionally, his 19 field goals made during the season were the fifth-most ever by a Terp kicker in a single season.
